Samsung Galaxy S9 - Here’s what to expect!

Samsung Galaxy S9 – Here’s what to expect!

Features and Things that are New…

Fingerprint reader

According to rumors, the much-despised placement of the Fingerprint scanner is going to change. This time around, the fingerprint scanner is going to be placed underneath the Camera on the back. It is a much needed welcome change from last year where the fingerprint reader was beside the camera leading to some confusion when trying to unlock the screen.

Dual front-facing speakers

Google Pixel 2XL brought the front-facing speakers last year, and it looks like Samsung is going to follow the same formula. This feature looks and sounds exciting as Android manufacturers sometimes seem to forget about the sound quality aspect completely.

Y-OCTA display technology

Reports suggest that this time both the phones are going to use Y-OCTA display technology as opposed to last year where only the smaller Galaxy S8 used it. What is Y-OCTA technology? It is a display technology which integrates the touch layer in the encapsulation layer of the OLED display, rather than using a distinct film-type layer like on older generations of Samsung’s displays. The advantages of these Y-OCTA displays are they are thinner and more than 30% cheaper to produce.

Super Slow Mo, Curved screens, and Animoji duplicates

Samsung Galaxy S9 - Here’s what to expect!
This leaked picture of the retail box shows a feature called Super Slow-mo. It remains to be seen how super slow it’s going to be. Samsung heralded the near bezel-less, and curved screen phones and the newest ones are expected to continue to build on that feature. Apple iPhone’s Animoji like features are expected to come on the Galaxy S9 line of phone. We are eagerly waiting to see Samsung’s take on this.
